BEHAVIOUR
At Mimicares, my focus is on creating a warm, safe, and inclusive space where individuals and families will be heard, supported, and empowered.
I believe in meeting each person where they are – emotionally, socially, in life – and walking alongside them with compassion and care.
Collaboration is the cornerstone of my therapeutic sessions.
I work closely with families to help them foster stronger, more understanding relationships with their children, even during challenging times.
This approach fosters confidence within the entire family, allowing them to support their child’s emotional and behavioural needs meaningfully.
My goal is to empower caregivers by equipping them with practical tools and resources that enable them to model behaviours they can practice with their children.
Whether you are facing anxiety, emotional difficulties, behavioural concerns, or are simply looking for a supportive space to explore life’s challenges, Mimicares is here for you.

Disconnect and Tantrums from Child
Case Study:
A mother was feeling disconnected from her child due to frequent tantrums.
By practicing emotionally attuned communication (e.g., offering comfort instead of punishment during meltdowns), she noticed a shift.
The child became more receptive to calming strategies, and their bond grew stronger, moving from adversarial to a more cooperative and trusting relationship.
To achieve this, I incorporate evidence-based frameworks such as:
1. Attachment-Based Parenting
Attachment-based parenting focuses on secure parent-child relationships as the foundation for emotional and behavioural regulation. In this approach, I guide caregivers in:
- Recognising and responding to a child’s emotional needs, such as offering comfort during moments of distress and creating a safe emotional environment.
- Practicing emotional attunement – for example, saying, “I can see you’re feeling overwhelmed; I’m here with you” – which validates the child’s emotions without judgment.
- Building emotional resilience by modeling how to recover from emotional setbacks, such as saying, “It’s okay to be upset; I get upset sometimes, too, but we can work through it.”
2. Co-Regulation Techniques
Children often struggle with self-regulation, especially when dealing with overwhelming emotions. Co-regulation techniques allow caregivers to model calming strategies and guide their children through emotional distress.
In my sessions, I help caregivers:
- Use a calm and steady voice to guide children during heightened emotions, promoting a sense of safety.
- Implement grounding techniques such as deep breathing, counting, or offering sensory activities (e.g., using a soft blanket or fidget toys) to help children soothe themselves.
- Validate emotions before offering solutions, ensuring that children feel heard and understood before being asked to manage their emotions.
