Mimicares is more than just a practice; it’s a reflection of my personal and professional journey. I’m Rima Alkadamani – or Mimi, as many know me – and after two decades working as a caseworker and project officer within government and non-profit organisations, I felt it was time for something different.
I wanted to move beyond the limitations of bureaucracy and create a space where care feels more personal, more connected, and more human.
Mimicares was born from that vision. I have finally found my place where I can help individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
I was first drawn to counselling and therapy because of a chance encounter with an inspiring lecturer who saw something in me that I hadn’t yet recognised.
His belief in me sparked a journey of self-discovery, and after a decade of experiences, challenges, and growth following my undergraduate degree, I started to realise how deeply I could support and help others.
Through kindness, empathy, and compassion, I have embraced my role in helping people navigate their own challenges, fostering hope and resilience in their lives.
I have always envisioned a practice where I could now offer individualised care – one that priorities compassion, connection, and meaningful support. That vision has now become Mimicares, a space dedicated to helping individuals and families on their journey toward healing and growth.

For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through many of life’s challenges.
My experience spans aged care, multilingual community support (I speak Arabic), working with Autistic children and their families, and most recently, counselling women navigating trauma and domestic violence.
I have a Bachelor of Health Science with a concentration in Behavioural and Social Science, alongside a graduate Diploma in Counselling university level.
Additionally, I have successfully completed the Advanced Certificate in Child-Centered Play Therapy and I am duly registered with both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA).
